Hello all. :D
Well, I was staring at this old old build-up I had of the Monogram "silohouette formula" Motorsports Mustang and thinking that it was an okay job, but I could have something cooler. At the same time, I was staring at this AMT 1967 Mustang GT thinking "What the hell am I going to do with this?".... Net result?

It's VERY ROUGH right now, but now I need an engine. I was originally going to keep the Zakspeed 2.3L Cosworth turbo four from the Monogram kit, but I started thinking that I wanted something of a more exotic nature and older vintage. What I need to know is if there is a good 1:24th/1:25th scale Cosworth DFV V-8 available in some kit. Anyone know of one? All I've seen are in Tamiya 1:20th scale F-1 kits.

Looks great! The only 1/24 DFV's I know of are in the RARE Heller Lotus 49 and McLaren M7. The Fujimi Enthusiast version of the Dome Zero Lemans car has a really nice DFV too. The late 80's AMT and Monogram Indy cars have OK turbo Cosworths.

The Fujimi Dome race car has the best DFV ever done in 1/24. :)

An Enthusiast Series kit? :(
I've got a ES Ferrari 246 Dino sitting on the shelf that needs finished. Talk about guilty about getting another ES. Oh well, needed for the 'Stang.

Glad to see so many people like this. I try to be different........
..... of course "different" has led me into a lot odd projects (Pro Mod 1958 Impala, for instance)

Do you know if Fujimi offered the 246 Dino in ES and non-ES versions? There's a reboxed Fujimi Dino (by Testors) in my local Hobby SHop, I'd pick it up in a heartbeat if I knew it was an ES.

All of the Testors Dino's were ES, Fujimi sold them in both versions. :)

Are all the reboxed Testors Fujimi kits ES? There were some Porsches (which I know got the ES treatment in the Fujimi line), a Mazda RX7 FD (probably not), and a Diablo too.

Yes, except the RX-7.
