This is the model I'll most likely enter in the AF Teen Contest. I cut out the back seats and put in some speakers. I'm going to prime it later. The wheels are Pegasus Elite Chromes, but will be painted white to match the body, which will also have blue flames. The interior will be painted with the color scheme that CivicLX has in his car. I've shave the door handles, emblems and all that off the body and filled in the 'COBRA' in the back bumper (not pictured). I'm going to add a roll cage, amp, and 4 point harnesses as well. Comments welcome.

^Sorry it's out of focus. My camera's batteries need charged^
Edit: I can't get the money together to make copies of my subaru's seats (pictured) so I'm going to have to use the stock seats. Not gonna look as good, but it's all I can do. The thing in the interior is a peice of scrap styrene I painted with the blue I'm using on the interior. It's darker than I'd like, but I don't have any Tamiya flat white to mix with it to make it lighter. It will do though.

I had planned on making resin copies, but the stuff is too expensive for me to pay for right now. When I get a job this summer, I should be fine and good to go for doing stuff like that though.

Been a long time since I've been able to work on this, but I finished the exhaust, primed and started the interior and found some seats (traded Josh aka: Sk8ter_in_ny), and got the chassis masked and ready for the flat black.

The tip in the top of the picture was waxed because I was trying to get more shine out of the Duplicolor Chrome. The bottom one is unwaxed and I think it looks pretty good. The tips are made of aluminum tubing.
Edit: If possible, could a Moderator move this to the subforum where it belongs. Sorry about that.

Love those seats!! What kit did they come from. They would look good in my Extreme Firebird project.
Could you have polished the aluminum exhaust tips and clearcoated them for that Chrome look instead of painting them? Just wondering.
Looks good so far, good luck.:ylsuper

The seats were traded with another member here. I think he said they came from a diecast he bought for $5. Very nice seats, but they had to be cleaned up a lot.
Now to the update:
I got the paint completely laid on the body and the decals on it. The decals aren't even dry in this pic and still need some solvent on them, but they cracked and chipped on me some (need to make sure I get a good protection coat on my decals from now on). They still look ok though. I polished the duplicolor white a little before hand, but just enough to make sure it was smooth enough for the decals to stick (and stick they did...more than I wanted them to and a lot faster than usual). I'll clearcoat the model after I'm done with the decals and they're good and dry.
I've also decided to make some blue Carbon Fiber for the car. I'll use it on the hood, the backs of the seats, and the tail lights if I can figure a way to make the clear ones (still working on that).
Also pictured is my airbrushed chassis and exhaust with re-chromed tips. THe result has made me decide to start airbrushing interiors and everything from now on. The lines are really smooth and sharp that way. Looks better! Enjoy!

Just thought I'd update and show my roll bar. It's finished accept for paint. Thinking chrome or anodized blue. The interior is almost ready for flocking too. Just a quick update.:gives:

Does anybody have idea, how to make carbon fiber painting on the model? I would appreciate for some useful tips.

It would be easier just to buy some carbon-fibre decals instead:wink:

Cool Mustang Project, I built one of the same model, except it was Blue, and the interior was beige and black, that was back in the days and to my suprise it's all in one piece......
I've always liked Mustangs, and I always will like Mustangs, and this one is coming out pretty damn cool!

I've got some seats very similar to that in my parts box at home. I can't remember exactly where they came from but it might have been an Acura NSX kit or possibly a Porsche 911 Turbo kit?

i custom made this from a stock hood and a cowl from some other kit. Spent over 10 hours sanding and getting it to be curved. Wish i would have finished the car though. Built a complete custom motor for it, with all the wiring, throttle cable, actual belt with custom pulleys, etc. Had a full 12pt cage in the car, with a custom suspension, custom exhaust, etc.
If anyone is looking for any aftermarket model parts, let me know. I have everything from speakers, amps, hydro pumps, batterys, parts from other cars, cars ive put together, etc. Will sell all for low prices.

Thanks, Jay. You da man.
I put down flocking today. Used spray contact adhesive and a 2 parts grey 3 parts black mix of flocking. It's the best job I've done yet, so I'm more than satisfied. It should be easier to see the speakers now too.

Finished wiring the engine. I'm beginning to wonder why I didn't start this a long time ago. I'm satisfied with it. Still need to glue on the starter, headers, oil filter, and power steering pump and then touch up the paint and such. I like the result though.

came out nice. I could never get the flocking stuff to come out nice for me, so for carpeting ive always just used real material. My new stang will have black leather interior in it
