At the Geneva motorshow, Alfa Romeo showcased thier SUV- the Kamal- they say it will use Holden's (Australias branch of GM) new V6 that will be showcased in the VE Commodore- and there will be a Twin Turbo version of the V6, to take on the X5 4.6iS persumably.
It uses a Selespeed gearbox, has ASR and VDC (Vehicle dynamic control) and the power would be around about 250 bhp

Personally I think the front end looks far too much like a BMW Z8- but other than that it is pretty.
Also I don't like the idea of an Alfa SUV- but that is by far the best car to relaunch Alfa into the US with.
The car could be on the road (Very unlikely we'll see one off it) by 2005

Car and Driver just did a little article on this. They actually expect it to be in the US by 2006. I would rather see Alfa come into the US with a car not an SUV. But I kind of like the looks of it, don't think it looks like a BMW. It is also expected to be a very good vehicle with off-road capability.

Alfa's coming with cars too...they just would make a better entrance onto the US market if they had an SUV as well. Why sell an SUV? Why do bank robbers rob banks? That's where the money is.

What I meant was that if an SUV is the first Alfa to be reintroduced in the US, I would be angry. I would like the first release to be a car... But I would think that they will introduce more than one vehicle at a time here, so that doesn't make much sense. Sorry for the confusion...
