here mine, still progress. I'm gonna have to redo the rear doors to get the lines out of the car. Only problem is I need a new front windshield and headlight covers.

in the u.s., noit all states require a plate on the front of ur car, so people put opther pltes on the fron, and some people out a plate llike thats on there cars, maybe he lived over there and thats his old plate or the british/whatever versioin of his u.s. plate

dont know if ya can tell, but that pic was taken at a euro car show... so, having a german car, a german plate is fitting for the show.

Looks good. I like the Hella Red clear red tail lights. I am working on my Golf project too. I made a front bumper similar to Gary H's old one.(from vwvortex). My grille is similar to the Oettinger one.

Here is the intercooler I just made for it. I based it off of the ATP intercooler.

thats sweet! what did you use to make the FMIC? yea, I recognize the front bumper style. also like billy-t's front.

i got a few ideas from some of these posts. first of all, i will make the grill like the kamei, and i have cut part of the front bumper to open it up some and make room for aother idea I got from on here.

I got this top hatch wing from the civic hatchback I made, and played with it and found it looked pretty good. fit good also.

And finally, I took the FMIC from an old Skyline model and put some chrome pipes on it.... also figured out a way to make a Neuspeed like dual dtm tip exhaust!

i just finished respraying the Golf turn GTI. will post pics once the paint dries.

Thinkin of keepin it simple....but who knows, things can always change! hehe

I would say go with black for two reasons.
One, the mesh in the grille is black.
Two, because I love black wheels.

It's really coming together, and I truly like the stance, but (and this is my own opinion, you may disagree) the wheels are far FAR too tucked into the wheel wells. It makes the car look very weak-kneed to have the tires hidden away like that instead of bulging out from each corner.

Otherwise, it's sweet. I love the modifications you've made.

Finally some sick euro cars are on this forum. Although i like imports, i like to see a change...and see all the sick body lines of the VW's. Can't wait to see this finished. BTW is it a Tamiya Golf?

i agree, the rims arent far out enough. i want them flush with the fenders. I'll see what I can do about that.

this is the tamiya golf 4 door..... made into a 2 door GTI

all i need is the clear plastics, and it'll be done. anyone wanna donate? hehehe

a little story. this model used to be completely box stock. i brought it to a car show one day and put it in my engine bay of my real GTI. well, the wind blew the hood down and crushed this very model. it wasnt that bad, but the windows were in pieces. then i got the idea to do all these mods.
