Well I finally am getting my b16a installed in my 91 civic dx and I have some questions if anyone could answer them. The shop where I am gettting it installed encouraged me to get a new water pump, clutch and timing belt. It made sense that these be replaced while installing the engine due to labor, but do they really need to be replaced. I think the clutch with labor is 300 more and the water pump and timing belt 250. Is this a rip off or is this really necesarry? Also does anyone know any websites that I can get a good deal on some headers, exhaust etc. Thanks

i'd replace em while it out. it'll save you money in the long run.

Yeah, it is A LOT easer to replace those while the motor is out of the car. I highly suggest it. ;)

I got my timing belt and water pump changed, but i don't think it's too crucial to get the clutch replaced.

Yeah you should do it now since the engine is out. Its way better to do now than later. If you can just do it yourself. But just think about it. What happens if one of the parts fail on you. You pay so much now. Or pay big money for a new engine. Then you have to think was it worth it.

I got em all done except for new axels.......broke em and had to get em anyways. I'd say replace them now and don't have to worry later. As far as the clutch, I just replaced it when they swapped it and they didn't charge labor and why should they? Find a better shop.
