What I did was simply tap into the lines between the individual amps and the speakers in the rear. Use that signal for high level inputs to the amp for the sub. Also, if you only have RCA connections, or only want to use RCA connections, you can get high level/low level audio converters. I forget what their official name is or part numbers, but they aren't that hard to find.

I just finished installing my subwoofer/amp. If you need a converter, there is a brand called "PAC" and it is a high/low impedance adapter (officially). Prices vary, but I can get some knock-off brand at a pawn shop for $15.00--You need to tap in from the signals (as stated earlier). The converter is a little box with four colored wires, two brown wires, and two RCA connections. You tap into the right and left rear speakers (not the red or black lines, the multi-colored ones...the red and black are power and ground for the individual amps on each speaker) and then plug in the RCA's. You will have some issues with quality loss (at least I did), and it would help if you have a crossover to filter out the mid/higher frequencies. If you want to use a seperate amp, you will have to disconnect the pre-amp on the speaker. Good luck!

The stock Bose sub is an open air sub. A JL is designed to be in a box, so I dunno how good it will sound in the rear deck.
