Question PC Racing Games

Does anyone know any good PC racing games (preferably free)? I'm looking for one with good customization.

Well there's GTR2002 www.sbdt.co.uk which was called the most realistic free simulation in a gamers magzine (cant think of the magazine now, its posted somewhere on their front page). Although you need to own F12002 (really cheap to buy now) to be able to install it, GTR2002 is a Mod for the game. And stay in touch with that website, becuase they are working on releasing a Ferrari 360 Challenge also. I am currently beta testing this now, and all I got to say is Holy $hit! And if your going to play this stuff make sure you have a racing wheel otherwise its pointless, its called a simulation for a reason.

The only other realistic game you could get for free is a demo right now: Live for Speed. http://lfs.racesimcentral.com/ Its mostly an online multiplayer.

Good Games, that Aren't free
F12002
GP4
Papyrus Nascar Racing 2003

NFS: Porsche Unleashed. Nice racing game, especially if you love everyone's favourite car from Stuttgart. Should be about $20 by now; been out for a while. Quality game, try it out.

Thats a decent game, although I wish they would have put a few more hours into modelling the physics...

Tried Racer? It's free, has a good physics engine, plenty of cars/tracks to download and is easily customisable. Some cars for it are a bit crap to drive, but the majority of the newer cars are high-quality, for example the Opel Vectra by iroker, or the Nissan 350Z by Stecki.

It has potential, make sure you download good cars, otherwise the game reacts terrible. No offense to peril, but this game kinda sucks, its got potential like I said tho...

The earlier versions were quite crap, but the latest one is good, I think anyway.

BTW, for good racing games, I used to love NFS2SE, but it doesn't run properly on my new PC... It has IMHO a good physics engine, more fun than realistic tho, the tracks are good to drive, and there are more cars than there seems, with cheats to drive civilian cars (the Trabant rocks, can't even climb some hills ). The only drawback is its age, but I think it's till a good game.

I know that, but running a 56k makes it a pain for 600mb+ games.
