engine swapgibbysomo 04-20-2003, 02:29 AM i recently bought a 90 pathfinder se 4x4. its engine is bone stock with around 120,000 miles on it putting out at best 180hp. i would like to replace the engine but am clueless as to what engine to put in it. i have been told that bolt for bolt a 300 zx twin turbo motor will drop right in. i would also like to put the 300 zx 5 spd in it too, but will i loose 4x4 capabilities? but i also hurd that power wise the engines are not all that different in power out put just one has the turbo, but wouldnt the turbo motor be extremely better than stock finder engine. does any one have thoughts about my engine swap i want someting with over 250 hp at the wheels and also would like to have a turbo if applicable. possibly rebuild engine and have bored out with no turbo but deffenatly want and need more power.:smoker2: fingercuffs 04-24-2003, 05:14 PM April Fools right? A 90 PF V6 has about 150HP stock. Unless you have a ton of $$$$ forget about putting in a different engine and tranny. Basically it's not engineered that way. Anyone that says it easy to bolt in a 300ZX turbo and 5-sp tranny is really saying "spend a shitload of money with my shop" If you want 250 HP buy the 2001 to 2003 PF when they switched to the VQ model engines Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
