ok i have a 93 civic and the rubber lining around the windshield is starting to fade and it's hideous. does anyone know what you could do to it to make it black again? a friend of mine was telling me that there is some sort of oil that you rub into it or something. any help would be appreciated

the make stuff for rubber trims. its in a shoe polish type bottle, and it re-blacks your rubbers. dont obther with silicone chines they just fade and wash away. this stuff is for rubber and plastic trims. i cant remember the name, new black or re-black or something like that.

Might sound weird, but I use black shoe polish on my cars trim to keep that black look, use it on my 84' BMW which was badly faded and looks good as new now... Cheap too only like $2 a can...
