Radiator Replacement 1999 3400 enginerjs0421 08-18-2009, 03:44 PM Has anyone ever replaced the radiator on the 3400? I know there is not a lot of room. Can it be done from the engine compartment or does it have to be removed from below. I do have a hoist in my garage. BNaylor 08-18-2009, 07:20 PM We replaced ours with the complete front clip off and I recall we had the front end jacked up and dropped the radiator down and out. Swapped out for a higher capacity radiator. That front air foil thing at the front end is actually the part that holds the radiator up and secure. Called a radiator support bracket. rjs0421 08-31-2009, 03:28 PM Thanks for the info, I actually ended up figuring it out. Did not remove the front clip but I have a hoist so I was able to take everything off up top because I also changed the thermostat, a pain in the butt there too. Anyway dropped the radiator from below. There are 2 annoying screws that hold the front plastic shroud to the radiator, not easy to get to unless you do reove the front clip. But I was able to do it. Could not find a high capacity radiator but found one made by delphi, now the car runs at a temp that is in the middle of the guage which is much better than is was before.
