am/fm/cd cooling fan

Are the cooling fans on the rear of the Delco am/fm/cd players thermostatically controlled? Or should it be running all the time?

I just had my unit out of the dash the other day and noticed the fan wasn't running with the unit playing.

Thanks

They are thermostatically controlled. I've even had the fan come on with the radio off (in the hot Vegas sun).

I always wondered what that noise was. Now I wonder no more.
