Actually pretty sure I know what I want for my first car.
I'm looking at a Subaru Impreza WRX STI.
Hoping to mod it with my grandfather who is a mechanic.

My budget is around ~5-6 grand.
I know I'm gonna have to get an older used model, but where would you recommend that I look?
I can't seem to find any under 10 grand on sites like craigslist, but I did find this import site? -

That web site is for vehicles for sale in Japan . You certainly wouldn't want to buy one from them . The cost of importing and retrofitting all needed safety and emission requirements ( for certification ) would make the cost prohibitive ! I doubt you could get a Subaru Impreza WRX STI for the amount you say you have in your budget but I could be wrong ? You could try Ebay or www.dealsonwheels.com (http://www.dealsonwheels.com) and see what's available . I'm sure if you Google "WRX STI Forums " that many will come up . They usually have classified sections , on these forums , and you might find something there ? Good luck !
