1994 GV trans in limp mode

Happened today- it's stuck in limp (2nd), shut the car off, started back up, still in limp- it seems like a "hard" fault, not intermittent at all. Disconnected battery, no change, fluid ok, no warning signs before this happened- trans replaced in '05 along with TCM. Codes 12 and 55 only. Speedo and tach fine. 3.8L, 4 speed. Can't find a pinout of the TCM, or I would start checking with a DMM. Looked at the TCM and solenoid pack and sensor connectors, all look good.

Re: 1994 GV trans in limp mode

It turned out to be the solenoid pack (specifically 2-4 solenoid was open)- downloaded schematics and info from Alldata, then traced from TCM connector (easiest access point). Hardest part of repair was keeping it clean- that part of trans collects a lot of dirt. Part from Chrysler (hard to find dealers nowadays) was $200.

I don't know if the van will do another 227K, but I'll give it a try.
