Re: 1991 regal

code 13 indicates low output voltage from the oxygen sensor. This could be due to a frayed, corroded wire or a bad sensor.

On the a/c question, there is no way there was still R-12 in the system if the line was broke before you attempted to remove it. Since R-12 is a gas, it all would have escaped from the break.

I would strongly suggest changing the accumulator/drier since you're converting from R-12 to R-134a as the broken line most likely allowed moisture in the system.

Re: 1991 regal

For your info only, I recharged the system from freon to 134a 5 years ago and replaced nothing and it has run perfectly since other than top-ups.

Did you know also that the patent for freon from Dupont ran out and they didn't want anyone else using it so they created all the hysteria about the ozone layer depleting lol. We're such dupes.

"Sallie is better qualified than most of us to have recently concluded that “there is no observed change in global ozone concentrations that is outside the bounds of natural variability. There is no scientific merit to the claim of an ozone crisis or UV catastrophe.

Fred Singer, Senior Fellow with the Alexis de Tocqueville Institution, Dr. Hugh Ellsaesser of the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory, Dr. Thomas Gold of Cornell University, Dr. Patrick Michaels of the University of Virginia, Dr. Marcel Nicolet, world famous atmospheric scientist, Dr. Haroun Tazieff,....
