Good morning.

I have a 2002 Grand Cherokee Loredo V8 and just recently the check engine light came on. I had Autozone pull the codes and it turns out that it was for the Evap system. The guy said usually its the gas cap. So i bought a new one for 12 bucks. he said pull the Batt to reset the code and it should be fine. so I did that too, it was good for a couple of days then the light came on again. Am I missing something???? i checked other vacuum line in the engine bay and they seemed in good shape with no cracks. Im hoping not to dump crazy money at the dealer to have this fixed.

any ideas???

the charcoal canister and vents are in the driver rear fender well, i've changed a lot of vacuum lines in there..

maybe the evap sensor is bad!!

Pulling and posting the exact fault code might be helpful, eg. P0441 P0442 etc.

that's true you need to find if it's a leak or a component failure.
