1983 Chevy S-10 4x4 2.8 V6

Hi guys just wondering how much oil goes in a 2.8. In book it says 4 quarts but ive seen threads that say it is better to put 4 1/2 quarts in. Thanks Bob

i own a s-10 with the same motor and i put in 4 1/2, the best thing to do is put in 4, then run the truck for about 10 min, shut down and wait for about 10 min, then check the oil, you want to hit the mid point of the safe zone on the dip stick.
