I guess I must have gone to a different site cause that said it was only 150 watts and thats nothing. My car's sub is 600. I'm thinking of getting MTS thunder series that handles up to 1000 watts. Now thats what I'm talking about.

Texan:

There are two differnt magnets out there

Iron

and

Neodenium

The difference?

You can use a neo in place of an iron. You can use a magnet 1/4 the size and still have 5-7 times the magnetic force of a iron magnet.

Ah, I prefer Orion subs for my car audio, and Velodyn subs for my home audio.

Anyone ever heard of ground zero subs???

Here's some of the victories with our amps

April 8, 2001

Sinsheim, Germany – The Car & Sound Show (A.K.A. “The European CES”) was the site of the latest dB Drag triumph by Directed Electronics and the multiple award-winning 1100d amplifier, which drove Wolfgang Fischer and his team from BS Audio Systems, Walkertshofen, to a 1st Place finish in Extreem-class 8+.

His racks of 41 Directed 1100d’s powered 20 BS-Extrema 12” woofers to a victorious 169.6 dB in his VW-T2 Eurovan. “It wasn’t pretty,” said the victorious Wolfgang, “but it sure was loud!”

Directed 1100d amps have powered a number of successful finishes recently:

First Place and World Record in Class, 171.0 dB, IASCA IdBL Finals 2000 ·
First Place in Class, 173.1 dB, USAC Finals 2000
MECA World Record, 170.7 dB, Louisville 2001
World Record in Class, 167.3 dB (with one woofer!), South Padre Island 2001

And here's a link to our current line of subs.

http://www.directed.com/audio/compx/compX_specs.html

There are some awesome subs out there. What I suggest is decide how much space you want to take up, and what kind of power you are looking for and go from there.

ratings dont mean that much. a sub can have a high rating but not be very sensitive to power, and a lower rated, but more sensitive, sub will blow it away. for example, jl 10 and 12 w0s are rated at 125 watt max, but are very sensitive, and will smoke a 600 watt mtx. oh and i had over 800 watts rms going to one of those jls rated at 125 max for a long time and it held it no problem.
