has anyone repaired a window regulator?javatrooper 06-24-2009, 03:58 PM My 95 drivers side window just got stuck down because the auto down was stuck and it took me about 3 minutes to realize the noise I heard was my regulator stuck in the down mode. I can hear the motor trying to raise the window but no luck. So I know it's not a switch or power issue. I'm wondering if somehow the up cable became unattached from the regulator and can it be reattached. Has anyone ever done this? I can pull the window up by hand and it will go down using the switch. Also, I can push the window down by hand. One last thing. Can the regulator be removed without taking out the glass? Thanks DFBonnett 06-24-2009, 05:54 PM I replaced the regulator/motor mechanism with one from Ebay for about $40. Once you get the door panel off, the job is intuitive. RickMN 06-24-2009, 08:55 PM Don't waste your time trying to fix the cables. These regulators are a known problem and even if you fix it, it will break again. Buy a new regulator and read this article. It has complete instructions and photos: (http://www.ricksfreeautorepairadvice.com/RepairTopics/Windows/ReplaceWindowRegulator.html) javatrooper 06-25-2009, 10:26 PM Got one ordered yesterday. We get hosed over here on shipping so it's running me $70. Got to love ebay though. JennyDee 06-28-2009, 05:21 PM 95 Camry I've had to put the glass back on the track and that was difficult until I figured out that the bottom rail ( guide) towards the door hindge has a screw to adjust the track. The door panel has to be taken off and the speaker too, so you can access the bottom guide rail bolt. Once I got the glass back into the track rail ( front rail) the window went up perfect. I would also suggest you see if you can get your hands on some extra door clips to hold on the panel. I broke a few of them when taking the panel off and did not have any extra. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
