94 isuzu transfer case help

i have to change the transfer case on my 94 isuzu and i heard that you have to take the whole transmission off. is this rumor true or can i just take the transfer case off?

If it's a manual transmission, yes. The transfer case is an integral part of the transmission.

If it's an automatic, no.
