2004 monte carlo radio installation

I have a 2004 monte carlo ss the dale Earnhardt edition and I have a clarion radio that I want to install in it. When I went to bestbuy to have this done they told me that I couldnt because my emergency maintenance lights get reset through the radio. Is there any way around this I really want to use my iPod in the car and the lighter doesn't work so I cant think of any other way except installing a radio with an iPod connection. Please help

Re: 2004 monte carlo radio installation

The Tire Monitoring System (If equipped) and The Oil Life monitor are reset through the radio, but can ALSO be reset via the gas pedal and the Headlight switch knob. but you will loose access to the options menu (Controlling if lights flash on keyfob lock/unlock) without the stock radio.
