1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Cruse control problem.

Some times when I go to engage cruse control the cruse control indicator comes on in the dash but the cruse control will not engage. I can even be using cruse control, disengage the cruse and have it not come back on when setting a new speed or even turning cruse control back on. Anyone have a problem like this?

The vehicle is a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with a 4.0 engine.

Thanks,

Re: 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Cruse control problem.

Can anyone tell me if there is a good diagram on the web for the vacuum system for this vehicle? Apparently when the cruse control drops out it is due to a leak or loss of vacuum in the vacuum system.

Thanks,
