Porsche 911 Carrera 1997 Inspired by 70's RS Style
I am basing the colour scheme for this Porsche on one that I liked on a 1970's Carrera RS I saw advertised in Motorsport magazine a while ago. It was black with green stripes and wheel centres and I thought it would look good on the 1997 version too!
I have spent a lot of time lowering the standard suspension, this involved plenty of careful bending of the kit's suspension parts. I finally managed to get it to sit as I want without breaking anything which was a bonus!
Since these photos were taken I have applied the black gloss but it wan't too successful with a lot of dust particles for some reason but I should be able to rub this out when properly dry and I also plan to apply clear once I have completed the green stripes down the lower side of the doors and front and rear bumpers.
I spent ages masking the wheel centres with blue tack!

Thanks for the info, I will probably paint my own stripes without the Carrera script because the idea was to be similar in style to 1970's RS but not exactly the same plus I will know that the colour of the stripes will perfectly match the wheel centres.
May still get the Fujimi one too though as it is a nice kit!

Finally managed to complete the green stripes and the clear coat. After about 3 hours of wet sanding followed by polishing this is how it looks. I am really pleased with the result. Although as usual the photographs show every imperfection that I had not noticed!
Just the detail stuff to do now and I can start thinking about completion, that will be 2 whole models completed in a year! Wow!

Thanks for the comment, I thought I would just keep the painted green stripe for this one. I know it looks a bit different to the original but hopefully when complete I think it will look ok!
