Unhappy 95 Lumina Will not Start

95 Chevy Lumina (Sedan) w/3.1 Engine – Car will not start.
It was running fine before I washed the engine with a pressure washer (I know now, very stupid, but I still have to solve the problem). The engine turns over, but never starts. I get a backfire from time to time. I have blown out all of the electrical components and replaced several of them. I have checked all the fuses. I have replaced the following parts with new ones: MAP Sensor, Idle Air Control Valve, Throttle Position Sensor, PCV Valve, Oil Pressure Sending Unit, Spark Plugs. I have removed, cleaned, tested and reinstalled the following: Coil Packs & Wires, Mass Air Flow Sensor
There is good fuel pressure in the fuel rail. I pulled the air plenum and checked the injectors and electrical connections to them for residual water. I blew everything out really well before reassembly of the air plenum. I did not test the injectors, but they were all working fine before the wash.
There seems to be good spark at the end of the wires and the Spark Plugs are new. However, starting fluid does not cause the engine to start. As I indicated above, I do get a backfire from time to time. Before I replaced the plus, I pulled the old ones and cleaned them well. After numerous attempts to start the engine with no success, I replaced the plugs. The plugs that had been shiny clean had powdery black soot on them. Possibly from trying to start with starting fluid and the backfiring?
It seems like the timing is off, but there are no timing adjustments for this engine. Everything is controlled electronically. The camshaft sensor and the crankshaft sensors appear to be sealed so that water would not affect them.
Any wisdom (other than don’t wash – got that!) would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 95 Lumina Will not Start

If you have sufficient spark the engine should start with starting fluid, either you are out of time ( Caused by the icm bad) or the spark is too weak.
