1994 ford ranger /w 2.3 swap to 1995 3.0

I am swapping a 1995 3.0L in a 1994 Ford Ranger. The year is the difference. I am told to take the entire wire harnes too. but it doesnt match up.(airbags and everything and hook-ups are different) I am wondering if I can just change just change the computer to a 1994 v-6 3.0L and keep the wire harness from the 1994 that was a 2.3. since the 3.0 was an option that year. Just trying to keep it simple. Help? Answers?
Thanks!
