Rebuilt my 1.0L in March (see previous posts).

Prior to the rebuild the car got 41 mpg and compressions were 156/156/70 with a burned exhaust valve in the #3 cylinder.

Since finishing I have driven the car almost 1000 miles and it is getting
50.8 mpg.

The compressions are now 162/170/170. I put in new stainless exhaust
valves and this probably brought up the #3 compression. I was expecting
the compressions to be higher (180+) than this but the car runs good and is getting good gas mileage so I am not complaining. This was my first
complete rebuild so I might have missed something.

Still not leaking a drop of oil though!

Compression will go up. It takes time to break in.

It gets better.

Relax and enjoy your 'new' Metro.

Just keep the oil up to the top mark and religiously change the Oil & Filter every 3,000 miles.

I would drain that oil now. Should be changed within 500 miles of a rebuild.
