Thers' been a lot of debate on how to do it. I did not use exhaust or remove the drive pulley.

1992-1996 Chilton's Truck & Van Repair Guide says to remove the bracket in order to get the pump out. While i may have removed too many bolts and dislodged my alterantor (still left wires in place), I did it!

Basically after disconnecting hoses and removing the 3 bolts connecting the pump to the bracket, you wiggle the pump out of the bracket, positioning the p/s pulley toward the rear. I then removed the bracket.. i think you only have to remove the 3 lower bolts and the the ones on the aluminum mounting bracket by the tension adjuster. I had a few more bolts taken off so my alternator took a bit of a plung. However, i was then able to move the brakcet out of the way and wiggle the pump through.

I hope this helps... this approach will work for sure in 1992-1996. my engine was a 3.3 on a '96 grand voyager.

Ps. Watch out for your brake line... a rusty one might break if you are not careful.
