Tips for starter modification

Hi I own a 93 cavalier 2.2 and since I have the car, I change a few starter on it, at all the time solenoid use to stick, I rewad on another forum that the problem with those years is that the 2 springs inside the solenoid small and big are too strong, so I took an old starter and I modified the springs by removing one circle each so they are just a bit shorter and less tension on it. I sand the the cup on ther connector and on the washer plate. I put thje starter on the car and magically it starts like a 250$ AC DELCO wow
