Post Is This A Dumb Idea?

I Have A 1997 Dodge Neon...
I Love The S14 Koukis...
If I Was To Transform My Neon Into A S14 Kouki,
Do You Think It Would Be Cool, Dumb, Or A First?
IDK What Else To Do...
I Can't Afford Another Car...
So, I Decided To Take Matter Into My Own Hands And Put An SR20DET
Into A Neon...
Now I Know Its RWD And A Neon Is FWD, But Custom Fabrication, And I'm All Gravy...
Yeah I'll Need The Rear End, The Driveshaft, And All That...
But I Think It Would Be Cool...

Re: Is This A Dumb Idea?

i think if you wanted to do all that work, just go buy a srt4 and sell your neon. much easier, and its not a bad car.

Re: Is This A Dumb Idea?

The way i see it if u cant buy another car then u cant afford all the modification that its gonna take to get it done.

You can always go find u a good s13 for less than 1500.
I paid 700 three years ago for mine and only had to replace a water pump and strut so far lol.

Its all up to you tho. Who cares what anyone thinks about your car other than you.
Let us know what u decide on doing.

Re: Is This A Dumb Idea?

You can get the SR20DET from a Sentra and put it in your Neon, both would be FWD transmissions, so it is very doable, mostly the only things you would need to make sure to do is new motor mounts.

Or the SR20VE from the Sentra. Depends on what you'd want to do, search around to find FWD SR20 applications and see how much motor mounts would cost and things like that.

Re: Is This A Dumb Idea?

Honestly, no matter how much money you put into a Neon to make it an S14, it will still be a neon. If you want an S14, save the money you would put into your current and find one.

Maybe I'm simplifying this too much, but it would make sense to me to put the money into something you really want instead of settling with something.
