Re: New car buying - Help!

Just to clarify, You want a V8 that has a timing chain. You do not want a timing belt.

Chrysler offers the hemi in a couple of sedans, Pontiac offers the G8, Cadillac has the northstar V8.

You indicated that you're in the UK. Jaguar 32 valve V8s have timing chains.

Haha, good idea. No worries, I've made the same mistake before.

Why not a timing belt?
I've never had a problem with cars with timing belts at all.
If you're after a V8 over here in the UK, what about the Vauxhall (Holden) Monaro? They do a 6.0 Supercharged version with around 500 lb/ft of torque.

A recent study found the average American walks about 900 miles per year.
Another study found Americans drink, on average, 22 gallons of beer a year.
That means, on average, Americans get about 41 miles to the gallon.
Kind of makes you proud to be an American.

Well my dads had many cars, one of which he's got atm is an R8 and that's chain driven instead of belt driven, and he says performance wise a reliabilty wise it's amazing compared to his GT3 RS....so he wants another one....but a saloon type, Passat, A6, 5 series, something along those lines so it's got to be a diesel lol
