92 F350 5.8 With dual tanks

I just bought this truck and it ran fine for about a week on the front gas tank and then started acting up. I switched to the rear tank and it seems to be fine. The fuel gauge is pegged full when the front tank is on, and sticks on a 1/4 for the rear tank. I have changed fuel filter and am assuming it is the fuel pump on the front tank. Ar the fuel pumps the same for both tanks? If they are then i could switch them and see if that fixes the problem. Any other way to test the fuel pump?

If I'm not mistaken I think the fuel pumps are different due to the fuel line locations. And both problems are in the fuel pump. I would use Motorcraft, but there are cheaper aftermarket options.
