1999 Durango front Hub spindle nut

Hi guys, Need to replace hubs. Cant get the spindle nut off! Very tight. Any one know the size? I had a 36mm socket and felt loose! Still wouldnt come off. Broke a craftment 1/2" breaker bar (at the sq. side in the socket) with cheater pipe when tring and loosen!
By the way found a set of them on AM autoparts CHEAP. no shipping charges.

Sounds like you could use a good penetrating oil to help ya out. PB Blaster is one I use the most. In my opinion it works alot better than WD-40. You may have to spray something on there and let is soak. You may have to go to a bigger drive size like 3/4 inch drive or 1" drive.

Use a 6 inch metal ruler and measure it may be 34mm nut. Ask a few friends if they have an impact wrench if you drive over to just loosen them. Otherwise the previous suggestion to get a 3/4 drive set is valid.

Got it off with the 3/4 size breaker!
Now, is this a pressed on hub?
I put a puller on it and it wont budge! I torqued so much that the puller bolt actually bent.

To remove the bearing hub spindle there are 3 bolts behind the hub that you must remove. Then tap on spindle with a rubber mallet. It will pull out.

It is a 32mm,you can use an 1 1/4" socket too.I have use an 1 1/4 socket and fits just fine.Tapping the spindle with a mallet will not work, tapping on it carefully with a hammer works better.Sometimes the wheelbearing will not come out easy.Chrysler screwed this up in 2004 in the fullsize trucks, the tolerances between the spindle and the wheelbearing are set way too tight.

Re: 1999 Durango front Hub spindle nut

just pound the rear of the flange with a hammer...or use a slide hammer, what happens is when the bearing fails, it heats up and distorts the bearing and hub assembly...
