Re: transmission swap

I'm not sure if it will bolt up. However it should. The problem is that the 96 is obd2 and the other is obd1. These computers always throw a wrench in things.

how would being a obd1 tranny be different? they both say axod on the cover. the range switch is identical, the electrical connecter that is next to the range switch is identical as well. the speed senor is different, but it looks like th 96 one would fit the 93. is there any other electrical parts of the tranny that would be a problem. maybe the gear ratio? would my axles shafts fit as well?

Re: transmission swap

If I'm not mistaking you have a trans computer on the obd2 and obd1. Especially if it is an overdrive transmission and has vss sensors ( vehicle speed sensors). These computers may have the same connectors. However I'm not sure if they are compatiable? The drive axles are not a problem at all though.
