Question Lets play "What am I?" // Part ID please

Girlfriends stepdad yanked this off some time back claiming it the source of a leak in the RR brake system of her '00 Contour (which is still leaking)..

I'd like to get a definite (or very, VERY likely) ID and order up replacement(s) before putting it up in the air and digging into it.

My guess: ABS flow restrictor
-- But I can't find ANYTHING on it even using the part numbers on the side of the part.

HALP PLEASE! - And thanks!

This is just an educated guess. That part appears to be a brake wheel cylinder piston. Wheel cylinders are a common leak point and are reasonably easy and inexpensive to replace. They are available at almost any auto parts store, I prefer NAPA, for about $16.00 each.

I hope this helps.
