Washer fluid heater system - is it worth it??

My local auto store has a Windsheild washer fluid `heater` for sale. Their unit appears to be on sale for 50% off. Being in colder winter region, is heating fluid before spraying a vehicle's windshield a good idea? Or, is this optional upgrade more marketing words then a real solution?

thanks.

i dunno how cold it gets, but i "upgrade" to a fluid that has a lower freezing point than the "blue water"

like the -40 C fluid from wally world...

Windshield washer fluid can come in a variety of colors (blue, green, yellow, pink, etc) but the most important attribute of suitability is that anti-freeze rating. The rest is a matter of brand, cost and color.

Thanks racebike.

Yes. I buy / use winter washer anti-freeze fluid in the winter time as well. Being -30F and -40F in my winter region is normal. Thus, washer fluid anti-freeze fluid is mandatory as well. If one "heats up" this anti-freeze fluid before spraying onto an ice covered windshield, I wonder if it works better? Better then using freezing cold washer anti-freeze fluid against a deep cold glass surface?

I agree that using a colder temp windshield washer fluid is sufficient. I don't hear too many complaints from those living in the colder regions that their washer fluid freezes. I've been using Rain-X (pink color) in the winter as it has an ingredient which helps keep ice from forming on the windshield and it helps to thaw ice already on the windshield.
To me heating the fluid a bit reminds me of some science project. When you warm the fluid and expose it to real cold temps, doesn't it freeze faster? Seems I remember that heat dissapates faster and it freezes quicker, or something along those lines

Found a web site that contains a few reviews (from folks who use it).

Overall (from folks who use it on their vehicle), sounds like a "great idea" but in reality, not worth it.

thanks for your feedback as well....
