98 buick regal GS supercharger. PROBLEM!!! HELP! PLEASEMcTigue 05-10-2009, 07:24 PM Okay, Sometimes when Im driving my car the SERVICE VEHICLE SOON light, BRAKE light, ANTI LOCK light, and TRAC OFF light comes on and the wheel feels just a little tight. Also, The other day I was driving it and it wouldnt move it felt as if something was STUCK! I turned it off then back on and it was fine! HELP! BNaylor 05-11-2009, 12:36 AM Welcome to AF. You need to get it scanned for any ABS/traction control system DTCs which will require an ABS capable scan tool preferably a GM Tech 2. It could be a bad wheel sensor within any of the 4 hubs, wiring or the EBTCM module. The reason why the steering acts up is the EBTCM module controls the Magnasteer variable effort steering. EBCTM = Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module. Also, be sure to check the brake fluid level at the master cylinder. McTigue 05-12-2009, 02:17 PM Okay. I went yesterday and got it put on the machine.. the GM tech 2. The guy said the code kepy coming back as "effort steering variable accelerator" he said he doesnt know what that means and has never had something like that come up! Im so aggravated! BNaylor 05-12-2009, 09:40 PM There are two parts to the Magnasteer system. The actuator at the rack and pinion and the EBCTM. Not a common problem. Can you post the diagnostic trouble code? With a GM Tech 2 it should be a C1XXX code. 03regalgs 05-10-2010, 10:55 PM looks like I have a similar problem just noticed today..., the ABS light traction control light and service vehicle soon light sometimes come on. seems to happen while I am turning fairly quickly with my foot lightly on the brake. doesn't happen while driving or stopping in a straight line. soon as I straighten myself out, all lights go off. Will probably go get it checked this weekend BNaylor 05-12-2010, 08:04 PM looks like I have a similar problem just noticed today..., the ABS light traction control light and service vehicle soon light sometimes come on. seems to happen while I am turning fairly quickly with my foot lightly on the brake. doesn't happen while driving or stopping in a straight line. soon as I straighten myself out, all lights go off.
