Transmission Dipstick?DEEPEE 05-08-2009, 08:00 AM I'm posting this for 2 friends of mine that each have a 2008 Tacoma, V6, not sure of the exact tranny model #. They said there is no dipstick to check or add transmission fluid. Does anyone know the exact thinking behind this and why they did it? Do they have to bring it into the dealer to have the fluid level checked? Thanks in Advance. 91 bird 05-08-2009, 09:17 AM if they have manual transmissions, they may not have a dipstick. there should be a fill hole and a drain hole on the side of the trani. open the fill hole and stick your finger in to feel the fluid level. could also call a parts store or dealer to find out the actual specs of those trucks. I should have mentioned they have auto transmissions.:uhoh: Flash75 05-12-2009, 05:48 AM This link should answer your question. http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Discussion-t29462_ds37416 Clifton vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
