Wink Blinking hold light messing with my Transmission

I have a 1994 MX-6 (AT) and the Hold light continues to flash. The gear shift is delayed to higher RPM's unless I remove my foot off the pedal and have it change gears that way. Can I disable this useless feature by pulling out a fuse? Or do I have to disconnect the battery and see if there is an error code? If this is the case, where do I find the error code list to determine what means what. I also need a pix of the fuse box.

Thank you.

http://www.troublecodes.net/mazda/

but it's unclear that you'll need a specialized scanner to access the codes ?!?!?

i guess you can also google for your wiring diagram of the fuse box.. the cover's missing on yours that includes what fuse is what?
