95 f250 secondary air control valve

i am looking at buying a 95 f250 , 351W, and the guy is saying that the secondary air control valve is bad. here is what he said..."it has a stutter going down the road starts at 35 and you really have to baby it to get it up to 55"... what is the secondary air control valve, and how easy is it to fix?

thanks, guy

Re: 95 f250 secondary air control valve

You don't fix it you replace it, bolt on essentially - if that is indeed the problem.
It is part of the air injection system which is pollution control but affects driveability.

Call a dealer and ask about the price.

I hope this truck is being offered dirt cheap, because I would be pretty leery of a 15 year old truck that "has a stutter going down the road starts at 35 and you really have to baby it to get it up to 55"
