96 f150 fusable link

I have a 96 f150 5.8l that had a fuse malfunction and melted instead of blowing for my heater and a/c blower.. I was wondering if I could clip wires and put fusable link in it since it has melted the normal slot for it to go in closed..If I do this what would be the best way to go about it!!!

I think you would be better off just putting a fuse holder in line. Much easier to repair next time it blows.

Look at the mini waterproof.
Coat the connector ends with silicon to prevent corrosion.
