I just replaced all the rear brake lines and cylinders. I had to drop the fuel tank to do it. When I reconnected the fuel line to the fuel pump and checked the pressurized line for leaks it was "sweating" fuel across the fuel filter/pressure regulator. I replaced both O rings in the stupid plastic connector and now fuel RUNS out! I know I got the connector fully engaged into the clips both times. It was much harder the second time with the new rings in. What is the secret to these idiotic plastic connectors? Can I cut it off back at the steel line and put rubber fuel hose and clamps in its place?

Use a flashlight and look in the connector. Remove the old parts. Look for a small O-Ring that goes over the fuel line.
Dorman products makes repair parts. Look on line for Dorman products.

They make high pressure fuel line hose 100psi I have some from http://www.ebay.com/
I've also used copper crimp connectors for metal line.

Thanks for the reply. I did already replace the O rings in the connector. That is what made the problem 10 times worse.

If I use fuel line hose and typical screw type hose clamps would it have to be a high pressure (100psi) type or just typical fuel line hose?
The operating pressure on the system is 35 to 45 psi.

I noticed fuel line hose for fuel injected vehicles in the parts store. I think it is designed for the pressures you indicated. Lowe's sells high pressure hose a lot cheaper than some parts stores. I've used standard hose clamps on 125 psi air line.
