Exclamation The usual P0101 and P0410

Mass Air and Secondary Air Injection codes are showing.

I checked the 30amp fuse for the pump and it was blown, put a new fuse in and it blew again instantly. I have a new motor on order. Any pointers? I'm hoping it was just the motor having gone bad from water. I took it off the other day and water was dripping out of the wiring insulation. I've heard the the two codes can be related. Hope thats the case as well. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Caleb

Let over half of what you hear go in one ear and out the other.

101 is a MAF flow problem.

What year and engine and mileage?
Any after market air filters/systems?
Have you run engine with air intake off or unpluged.

Look in the how to section for help on code 410.

Also Clear codes and see what comes back.
Post back needed info.

Re: The usual P0101 and P0410

From the best I can tell, both codes popped at or around the same time. I have cleaned the MAF as well. The fact that the fuse blew again immediately after I replaced it tells me it is more than likely a short, or bad motor as it is highly unlikely that a vacuum leak would blow a fuse . I have the 4.3 Vortec in a 2001 ZR2 with 97k miles. I do have a K&N filter in the stock air box. It had it in there for near 8 months before the 410 code popped though. Like I said, I have heard that the smog pump going bad can cause a malfunction with the MAF also. I had the codes cleared and both popped up again. When I replaced the fuse, the SES light was off for about 5 seconds, until the new fuse blew again. Then it cam right back on. I have gone through the vacuum lines to check for leaks, and took apart and tightened everything back up on the intake system. I have a sneaky suspicion that that P0410 is also causing the P0101. If you have any more adivce, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks!,
Caleb

Re: The usual P0101 and P0410

FIXED!! I got a new pump motor, replaced the fuse again, and two days later all is well. No codes, not even the MAF. I hear the pump come on at start up as it should. Glad I decided to take a look at this myself and not let the shop do it as it was an easy fix and saved a few hundred! I'll try and get pics up of the motor and how they are NOT supposed to look. It was nasty. The blower fan wouldnt not even turn when I tried with my hands. It was completley corroded frozen.

Thanks for posting back the fix and how it went.

Getting moisture /watrer in the system is one problem with them.
Check all updates and tsb on it for a better air intake on it that does not suck in water.
Good luck.
