1997 Dakota 3.9 "NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT"Monitors "Not Ready"
1997 dodge dakota 3.9 auto 2 wheel drive..Quit on Highway ,no fuel pressure.Check engine light not lighting (bulb good)fuel pump works fine when jumped ,OBD2 test - bad O2 downstream sensor (replaced),"monitors not ready" message ,won't pass inspection . I hot wired the fuel pump through a keyed switch and the truck now runs fine but the "monitors not ready" message and "no check engine light" problems still are there .I've checked the ASD and Fuel pump relays .I Got a rebuilt and reprogramed PCM. But I still have SAME PROBLEMS. I Checked the wires under the relay distribution center, The wire connections appeared fine but were re-soldered and taped But it Didn't fix it . please advise It's been to a local mechanic but he hasn't been able to find the problem either . I was told today it could be a bad guage cluster. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
