Need help with a new clutch issuelottathought 03-29-2009, 09:02 PM I am trying to change a clutch in a 93 Ford Probe. The new equipment is not working correct however. I will do my best to describe the trouble. The part that the throw out bearing rides against...when you tighten the pressure plate down... the forks go in instead of going out. This is not allowing the clutch to disengage. It is not related to the pedal because the pedal is not yet connected. The hydraulic cylinder on the tranny stays fully extended all the time because the pressure plate will not allow the forks to push back. I would think that it is a bad pressure plate but I went back and got another replacement. I am at a loss. Any ideas? lottathought 03-30-2009, 04:45 PM Is it that I did not explain it well or is this just as a weird and issue as I think it is? rhandwor 03-30-2009, 08:15 PM I think something is not installed in the proper order. Look at the install procedure in the paper work with the clutch. RahX 03-30-2009, 09:17 PM Are you sure the clutch disc is installed in the right direction? MickieH 04-11-2009, 07:20 PM I know it sounds like a right pain, but I'd take it all apart again, and check everything, and put it back together. Good luck. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
