1994 Lumina, 50,000 milesshumar 03-25-2009, 11:11 AM I am thinking of buying my grandma's Lumina. It has 50,000 miles on it and has been well maintained, but not driven much, especially the last 5 years. My dad wants me to pay $2,200 for it. Will it just be a headache? Will it just be a gas guzzeler? Thanks jeffcoslacker 03-26-2009, 07:52 AM Should get mileage in the 20's... Too much $ for that year, even with the low miles. Kelly Blue book on it in Good condition only $1090...excellent $1245... Unless it's a Z34 or Euro...still not worth what dad wants though. Dad a used car salesman? jeffcoslacker 03-26-2009, 07:55 AM Have the underside looked at... Problem I run into on little old lady cars, especially when they haven't been driven much in years, usually the underside hasn't been run in rain or cleaned since the last time it saw road salt, and it's rotted all to hell. See things like rusted fuel lines, brake lines, and even subframe/engine cradle to body and trailing arm to body rot that can make the car a death trap. Especially in Michigan cars... shumar 03-28-2009, 06:50 AM Thank you very much for the advice. I think I'll have it looked at and see if I can get him to reduce the price.
