I think you should fix the surging problem.

Thats about all I can tell you given the such brief explanation.
What engine?
What transmission?
Any CELs?
Does it surge during deceleration?
Does it surge at a certain speed(s)?
Does it only surge on the highway?
Does it surge only after the engine has been brought up to operating temp?
When was the last time plugs, wires, and fuel filter were replaced?
Does the fuel level seem to have any effect on the surging?
