So, with the warm weather as of late and snow melting comes mud, yesterday i went through a full tank of gas, pretty much just being a idiot, getting my car full of mud. today was our first heavy rain , so i thought id drive it through some puddles to clean it up :) . I took it throught a tremenosly deep one and after i came out, the belt started to squeal, lights dimmed, charge went down to 12 1/2, and lost all power when accelerating, drove for about 3 seconds, everything returned to normal. did i just get the belt itself to wet? so it was slipping or???? thanks for the help!!

ok wet belts do slip and just make sure you didnt suck any water into the engine

ok, how would i know if i did suck water up? the reason this concerns me is because, i have a K&N intake on it , with no heat sheild. so it seems entirly possible

if you sucked up a tiny bit of water it just turns into steam and makes your suv run like shit till it works the water out.

now if you sucked a lot into it you would have known cause you engine would have quit also known as hydrolocking where water fills the cylinder and wont let the piston move. usually if it hydrolocks and you had the rpms up bye bye engine. if its still running just fine then dont worry.

as for the water and squealing belt. the belt was slipping on the pulleys which explains the loss of power till they dried out or got the water out.

once again if its running fine you shouldnt have any problems with it.
