tires and sizes

My 99 tahoe needs new tires. I have 2 badly worn in the front and two worn but useable ones in back. My tires are 265-75-16. My brother has 2 new tires 295-75-16. Does anyone see a problem with putting these new tires in back? thank you for your input.

Re: tires and sizes

If it's 2wd it won't hurt, but if it's 4wd don't even think about it. Putting it in 4wd with mismatched tire sizes will cause the driveline to bind, which won't allow the transfer case to return to 2wd, and on slippery surfaces you could lose control as front and rear fight each other for traction.

as the other forum member stated the tires must be the same size and wear....If this is 4wd....

most tahoes came 4wd....so you should replace all tires ...
if you don't have the cash go to a scrap yard and get tires that have the same amount of wear on all 4..
