1999 Malibu Window wont go down

My 1999 Malibu's electric driver window will not go down. How can I assess and fix the problem?

More info...
First off let me say I dont know crap about cars! Anyways here goes nothing...
All the other windows work on the panel that has the driver and passenger window controls, but when I press the button for the driver seats window it doesn't make the same clicking sound like all the others and the window doesn't respond.

Thanks in advance for the help! I hope I can settle this problem.

Test to see if power is going through the switch to the window motor: 1.Turn ignition on to run. 2. With a test lamp backprobe left front power window switch between terminal B and ground. 3. press switch to down postion. If test lamp does not light then replace the switch.

If test lamp lights: backprobe between terminal B and +battery voltage. Press switch to UP. if test lamp doesn't lights replace switch.
If test lamp lights: backprobe between terminal F and ground. Press switch UP. If it doesn't light replace switch. If it does light: Backprobe between terminal F and +battery voltage. Press DOWN position. If test lamp doesn't light then replace switch. If it does light, then you will have to get at the window motor and probe there..

or you could go about it the amateur way and just replace the switch and hope that's it. If not, then you would go on to replacing the motor..it can turn out to be a lot of work replacing and buying unnecessary parts that way though.

Take it to someone who knows how to work on cars. No offense but testing electrical isn't something you can explain with words alone.

The switch is underneath the cover where where you push the window to roll up and down. You just pop it out of the door with a small screwdriver and the switch's connector and terminals are underneath. Backprobing is simply sticking the test lamp's pointer into the back of the connection while it's still connected. If you don't have a basic understanding of automotive repair and electrical systems, it's like RahX said, it would be too hard to explain it here. Maybe it'd be best to take it to someone.
