Dealer declared car unrepairable

I bought a 95 Cirrus and the transmission keeps going into the limp mode in the transmission. I called a couple of shops and the told me it was the transmission computer. I called chrysler dealer and asked about the repair cost. When I described the car they asked what color it was. I thought this was odd but I told them and then they asked for the VIN. I told them and they told me that they had replaced everything to do with the transmission and it still was not fixed. They submitted to the engineers at chrysler and they declared it unrepairable. Sound strange to me that they made it but can't fix it with all new parts. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Dealer declared car unrepairable

I cleaned out my transmission solenoid connector and plug with connector cleaner, then sealed the top hole [for removal of connector] with a cap and RTV.....My problem was solved. I was told that when the computer samples tranmission data, that data fails to report the proper status and limp mode is the result. I gained some insight into the problem luckily from some one else who sadly spent thousands of dollars on his Crysler van parts, only to diagnos the problem himself out of desperation. I would love to give him the proper credit!!!
