If you don't think you can find a decent Supra for under $1,500, then listen to this.
Now for my sad sad story:
About 2 years ago, i met this dummy that was selling his wife's '87 supra for $1,400!!! The pearl blue paint was flawless!!! It had 180,000 miles on the odometer, sport roof, good interior, no accidents, but the engine needed a tune up. At the time, it was the best looking Supra in my town of 50,000 people. I was so close to buying it, but there was one major flaw about the car: IT WAS AN AUTOMATIC!!!!! I hate autos, but for a deal that good, you don't just pass it up the way i did. I had no idea how much that car was really worth. For the past two years i have kicked myself in the leg for not buying that car. In fact, i think that it is one of my greatest regrets in life . So, if you see such a deal, make sure that you go for it!!!
The best deal that i have seen on a supra since, is mr2's supra for $2,500!! And that car is 5spd!! Heck, if i had enough money right now, i would drive up to Missouri to pick it up:frog: .
I have a 1986.5 toyota supra with a 5 speed transmission, It has power everything, and it has a staight body. I am not sure what is wrong with it but it just quit running, the engine is not locked up though. I will take any reasonable offer will take alot less than what it is worth. you can email me at jeromey@bellsouth.net or call me at (270)827-0771 for details or questions.
i have a 90 turbo im selling, 5-speed, only problems are it needs engine work to run and a dent. brand new clutch, im looking for around 2500 OBO, buyer pays for shipping. im located in las vegas, elkappytan@yahoo.com
It is true that it will be difficult to find one in good condition for under 1500, but I have been looking for a long time and have seen many in acceptable condition, or with very minor problems. It is possible but you should expect minor mishaps. Now would be a good time to since its winter. I would suggest checking autotrader and ebay I found alot on autotrader. Also I would suggest trying to bargain down a seller. I just recently bought my supra last wednesday, and I got an amazing deal. Mine is a 1990 turbo targa 5-speed. I got it for 2000 and its worth almost or more than 4000. Its got 130k miles and is perfect mechanically. It shifts like a dream and has no defects aside from worn leather seats. All it needs now is new tires. Thats a perfect example of findin a good deal. You just gotta search alot. Good luck.

I am in dying need of a 86-92 supra and well i have a car to trade if anyone is interested it is a 95 volkswagen golf gti VR6 which is a 2.8 litre v-6 with a 5-SPEED, sunroof and abouot 138,000 miles just to let you know how it runs is summed up by saying "like a raped ape" I was so proud to beat a dodge neon with only 3 stock parts on the engine with nos but no bottle-i beat him by two car lengths. Oh i almost forgot performance parts- neuspeed cold air intake and a magnaflow muffler with 3in pipe from the cat-back so drop me a line with a reply.
